Justin De Waard
Justin has the distinction of being the youngest employee of JP's ever - 13. Well, he job shadowed for a day under Sherry, but nonetheless he wanted to work in coffee since he was born.
Justin used to bug us incessantly and ask, "Can I work at JP's now??" He kept it up until we just couldn't say "no" anymore.
So here are Justin's credentials:- Has been highly addicted and enthusiastic about coffee since age 7.
- Had a cafe in his basement and sold highly caffeinated drinks to neighborhood kids at age 12 (until he accidentally blew up his machine).
- Started at JP's at age 16 (been a barista since 2005).
- Started as a trainer with MBS in 2008.
- On JP's Barista Committee.
- Help organize and execute first Great Lakes Barista Jam.
- Favorite drink: doppio ristretto cappuccino or a cup of dark roast
- Interested in creating new and original drinks and making being a barista a more expressive art
Says Justin, "I've always been drawn to the immanent socialization that comes with a cup of coffee and the coffee shop aura. I believe that music, literature, socialization and coffee are meant to be enjoyed together."
